i want an old school super clean rounded peanut tank (never goes out of style) wala akong mahanap na gumagawa dito kaya no choice but to import. all these tanks cost more than $120+ if i'm gonna import it plus the shipping and taxes it will be pricey
so before order i need some opinions, pls. feel free to write a comment which tank you think will be better on my next bobber project, thanks in advance.
1.) rolled edge sporty
updated version of sportster tank with round bottom but only available in 3.4 gallons, guess a little large for my bobber frame need a serious modification.
2.) wassell
2.0 gallons vintage wassell tanks are favorite of many custom bike builders, extremely rare and expensive but i found a company that remanufactures exact replica with heavier gauge.
3.) narrow alien
2.1 gallon narrow alien head shape gas tank with no flat and all round all the way across to the center, pretty nice old school look.
4.) axed
2.2 gallon axed tank is also round shape all the way across the center but more bulbous apperance than the narrow alien and sits pretty high on frame's backbone.
5.) mustang
2.8 gallon mustang tank will looks wide and low on my bobber, this tank is the largest and widest i found that fits my frame.
6.) cole foster, salinas boyz
2.35 gallon gas tank design by very talented mr. cole foster of salinas boyz customs, this tank looks sharp and sits very low.
7.) dished
3 gallon dished side panels gas tank made very popular by the late legendary indian larry, i guess this tank will look great on more expensive custom paint job and also bit large to fit on my frame.
id go for the dished:) btw do you also customize honda steeds? i have one kasi and planning to have it transform into a bobber.
ReplyDeletedished tank is the best!!! when will you start ordering the 250cc v twin hardknock?

I ordered the mustang, but I have other commitment right now, hopefully I can start my next build early next year. As of now i just build & sell bikes based on what I envision not accepting "pagawa" thanks for the comments - jers
ReplyDeletei know im late, but i think that the dished tank is the baddest ... if you can build a bike around it like the late Indian Larry. i would stay away from that one. its a show piece tank. for everyday riding, and longevity, the sporty tank CANT go out of style. its the only tank i can think of that has lasted a million decades. you can true p-nut it, you can leave it, you can expand it, take a couple inches out of the middle to narrow it, frisco style it, and in all those modifications it will still have the same basic profile, and look good on almost anything.
ReplyDelete-just my opinion
good luck with your build bro
